In 1995, Catherine personally sued the Transportation Improvement District (TID) and the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles; forcing them to rescind an allegedly illegal $20 annual license plate tax in West Chester. West Chester vehicle owners have saved up to $1.9 million per year ever since—over $20 million to date.
In 2002, Catherine Stoker led the referendum petition that forced the Butler County Commissioners to repeal an increase in our county sales tax rate. Shoppers in Butler County saved more than $72 million during the subsequent four years.
